BACK to WA: Escarpment, Boab Tree & Lake Argyle

After 5 hours drive from Kathrine we are back to Western Australia ! We went through the quarantine station at the border near Kununurra and surrendered our oranges. WA has stringent quarantine on fruit, veges, soil, uncertified honey, seeds, flower and animals because it is still free from pests that other states may have trouble with.

At Kununurra Visitor Center, we gathered information on tours of the famous Bungle Bungle at Purnululu National Park. Since the park is only accessible with 4wd, the only way we can see it is to take 4wd tour or scenic flight. Cheapest option is a day tour for $250 pp!! It is so expensive for the transport in, although they provide 2 nights unpowered site and a lunch and dinner. Still it will be $200 pp after deducting those cost and we only get to spend 5hrs at the park (it takes about 2-3 hrs on 4wd one way). Really have to consider about the value!

Then we came out and saw the never before seen case, a flat tyre! Oh no.... Luckily we had a spare tyre. Now we have to spend more money to buy a new tyre or 2 if needed. Is that an indicator to say we can skip Bungle Bungle? The world heritage listed site?

The next morning, we found the Bridgestone tyre centre at Kunnunura and the bloke fixed our tyre. It's not a big hole so we keep that still good tyre as spare. And he said the spare tyre we had on the wheel is good to use. We also fixed the battery terminals which have been loose for ages. Sometimes going through rough road, it will not detect the battery and we would be shocked, why can't we start the car? After a while, we're quite used to not able to start our car, and a quick touch to the terminals solve the problem. So finally we got that problem fixed as well, that and the tyre cost $40.
